| A Moment To Rewind
By: Mark R. Sosa
Copy written 2004
Now rewinding
To my adolescents full of muted heartbeats
Morning mirror reflections expressionless
Mind hollow unconscious actions to follow
Arms expanded wide and both eyes shut
Awaiting this love to come inside but
The empty cold air of loneliness was all I could find
Bedroom a sanctuary salvation from all stranger’s intrusion
Afternoon playground for all a delight
For me my entrance into my expressionless fight
My blood mixed with tears that covered the ground
Created a vision of a father figure I thought I once saw
A blinded vision never again to be found
From my living room couch as a teen
I saw my R.I.P. gravestone signature so vividly
I tried so hard to get there
I really, really did
Not knowing then at death’s door
That the smirking devil had already placed his bid
Heaven sure knew that from death I’ve never hid
Cheating death was never my young dream
Yet for so many years the fun of doing it repeatedly
Just wasn’t as bad as what it seemed
As I walked away from it continually
Practically mocking the Grim Reaper’s stupidity
Heaven has left me without
A single scratch on my human being
Yes I have been dead and
Have come back from a coma to life
To walk across the sky’s decorated rainbows
Something I never imaged would one day take flight
To live, love, and laugh with peace finally inside
To heal, renew, teach, and to give those hope
Who are still trapped on that “other” side
Tell them true peace is not found
When you decide your own fate
Look around for your world of dreams
If you believe only then will you find
Just stop, step back to look and listen and
Take a moment to rewind _________________ Welcome To The Inner Sanctum Of My Mind |
