| The key to a Christian consuming alcoholic beverages is two-fold:
First, does it affect your personal relationship with God? Are you impaired in your ability to spend time with Him in study, in prayer, in learning to share His Love and His Son's sacrifice?
Second, does it affect your public witness as a Christian? Does it prevent you from keeping a job or from doing your job correctly? Does it impair your parenting? Is it hurting your church attendance or any other fellowship or gathering of friends?
These are questions that must be answered truthfully within oneself to know if drinking is an enjoyable pleasure or a stumbling block in your life.

| Good post marsha, we must also consider health...Is it detrimental to ones health.....This is why I believe I must slack off to maybe once every two weeks . I have gained massive weight due to meds and beer. Our bodies are a temple and my temple is tilting.

| Ill agree there are a lot more freedoms in the catholic church than in protestant churches....and although I am not a catholic, the catholic church has done many things that I personally admire in the name of God / greed/ ground , or grace, what have you. If there was ever a man-made monument to the being of God, it would be the catholic church. Much of it honestly fascinates me.
