| k, i've been looking for some more death metal bands to add to my collection, but all the vocals suck. so is there a band out there who's vocals are closer to the same style as chris barnes'? if it's christian that's all the better....but if not that's cool too. i like the low vocals, but not when it sounds like they're trying to cough up a star fruit, when there's more scratchy than there is voice it becomes a problem. _________________ Love is like a flower; even the most beautiful kind dies. |

| Chris Barnes vocals really shine on Cannibal Corpses Eaten back to life album. Some other bands that I like and maybe you could try out are: Decay, Mortician , Autopsy, Carcass, Spinecast, All shall Perish, Fleshcrawl, Borknagar, Amon Amarth, BRAINDRILL , Amorphis, Enslaved, Ultima Thule, Berserkr (crush the weak album) . That's all I can think of right now, the ones underlined are my mega favorites. _________________

| lol cough up a star fruit!! Can't help ya. Sometimes I just do random google searches and see what I come up with. You're on myspace have you tried doing random searches there? I mean most bands have a myspace page instead of a regular website now. You may find something interesting. _________________ And (Saint)Peter goes ‘If you know about mans suffering on earth, why do so many horrible things happen to good people?’ And God said, ‘Because I love them so much that I pour pain upon them so that the transition from life to death will be more profound for them and they will appreciate my gift more than the others - Peter Steele

| i just tire of the vocals getting drug out....anything that's more than one sylable is unrecognizable, where as in the more recent CC or torture killer it's a little more growl and a little less "star fruit" haha wow. listening to mortician right now....i had no clue it was humanly possible to sing this low--still not convinced, do they edit his voice or something?? crap... _________________ Love is like a flower; even the most beautiful kind dies. |

| I highly recommend the band Death. I dont know why I didnt think of it sooner. I dont know if you are familiar with them or not.
Check out http://www.thrashmageddon.com TONS of downloads. Registration is free and I use it as a testing grounds of sorts. I find stuff that sounds interesting, download it and if I like it I will go buy the cd and delete my downloaded files.
I also use the website to find stuff that just isnt in print anymore. |

| The newest offerings from Deicide and Belphegor are brilliant. Indeed, I was most shocked with Deicide's latest, as it is much more "lite" on the Satan and innovative on the music.
As far as Christian death metal, I would scan the recent releases on Itunes. There seems to have been a proliferation of Christian metal on there recently.
Cheers,
Ian |

lol Satan-lite. Is that something like 1/2 the damnation and no evil after taste I can't give them a thumbs up or down but this chick I know who loves COF also loves Dimmu Borgir. They're like Norweigan or something(not Christian, supposedly "just like Cradle of Filth" so she says). But I haven't heard anything of theirs yet. I don't know why I didn't think of that the other day. So yeah I am telling you that you may want to check out a band I have heard nothing of. Eh at least I tried. _________________ And (Saint)Peter goes ‘If you know about mans suffering on earth, why do so many horrible things happen to good people?’ And God said, ‘Because I love them so much that I pour pain upon them so that the transition from life to death will be more profound for them and they will appreciate my gift more than the others - Peter Steele

black metal like CoF or Dimmu Borgir
death metal like Cannibal Corpse, or Nile
there are a gazillion sub-generes...symphonic blackened-death metal, goregrind, viking metal....no im not kidding, lol but those and thrash are the only important ones. =D
