| I've been attending a meeting run by a woman I have known for over a decade, haven't seen most of them for some time, I brought up the subject of celebrating Halloween and she kind of had the same reaction as someone here I know.........good grief, you people! |

| Halloween to me is taking my kids for candy, well when they were young, and giving candy to the neighborhood kids. Its memories of when my parents took me out for candy and we looked at the decorations and had fun..... I know the arguments pro and con. But consider this: If a practicing satanist goes to church and takes communion, does that mean that he is a christian and follows the words of God? NO IT DOESNT, .... If a Christian participates in a halloween activity does that mean he is following an ancient pagan satanic diety?? NO IT DOESNT.. Well, this is my take on it. _________________

| I'm a gothie so I am always gonna love Halloween. The day after I swoop into the stores and buy up all the fishnet stockings and black nailpolish at halfprice! Besides it has always been the one day people don't look at me funny when I'm in my regular goth garb. Really though I don't have a problem with it and if we're not rolling I do dress up, it dosen't change how I feel inside I just like any excuse to go all out and do something fun. I think my hubby has a pic of me from halloween on his myspace page but I don't know his page I just found out he had it the other day. _________________ And (Saint)Peter goes ‘If you know about mans suffering on earth, why do so many horrible things happen to good people?’ And God said, ‘Because I love them so much that I pour pain upon them so that the transition from life to death will be more profound for them and they will appreciate my gift more than the others - Peter Steele
The real question is :What would Jesus watch on YouTube? |

I wholeheartedly agree with this argument. It can also be used with Harry Potter books and satanic metal music, horror movies, etc. If the listener, reader, participant, etc. is of sound mind and firmly planted in confidence with the Lord, nothing should negatively harm them.
I think instead of trying to protect our kids from sorcerers and cookie monster vocalists, we should make sure they get to school safely everyday and remember to tell them we love them and be there for them.
I may be wrong, but I don't think so. |

| haha, idk, its kindof all based on perspective, i mean if you have a strong christian rooting, dressing up for a few hours of fun is not really a problem. however, if you have absoloutely nothing to hold on to, you could have a change of religion in 5 minutes time!!! basicly this is my take on it, if you can be trapped by everything that goes on during halloween you shouldn't participate. if you can wake up the next morning and go back to your normal life, its OK _________________ Love is like a flower; even the most beautiful kind dies. |
