it has many deffinitions......and all of them make me mad.

i bought untitled, deluxe edition a couple days ago, naturally i was stoked.
so im reading through this booklet, right, and i get to the part where J.D. is thanking people, ok so im reading, im reading, and i get down to the bottom, he thanks monster energy drink, and then BAM!

hail satan!

now, mind you he is NOT a satanist, and from what i read he doesnt believe in him!
and still johnothan davis, my favortie vocalist ever, bothered to do that just to get attention.
im pissed.

why do people do this? im talking about beyond KoRn, or any band, but why do people feel the need for shock value?? why are people SO desperate for attention that they feel the need to sell out for it?

For him, it's no big deal. He probably doesn't see it as anything more than saying something "new" and "cool". Yeah, never had too much respect for him anyway. I'm not surprised he would say something like this.

i think he's a great vocalist and a pretty cool guy, but that was pointless...

but yeah, anybody who would say something like that just to grab attention...yeah, that's not cool.

but this was just an example of what im trying to convey.

why is it that people have a need for negative attention??
why do people go to boundless ends to get any amount of shock value?

Ok here's my thoughts on poseurs in general. I think some people are just so unique that they stand out by just being themselves and then others have to do something to make themselves stand out.
(Course I'm one to talk with tats and unnatural coloured hair but you know what I mean.)
Some people always act like the funny guy/girl for attention or be extra loud or just acting a fool. I think that some people just feed off the negative attention. Marilyn Manson for example - just a dorky kid from Ohio who realized he could get more attention being the very thing that people would fear/hate most than by being a smooth sensitive ballad singing crooner.
I think it's really about the simple fact that it's soooo much easier to be bad than good. I could stand up in this crowded truck stop right now and drop the eff bomb a dozen times at the top of my voice and throw my glass of water at the window and get everyone here to notice me. Or i could sit here sweetly typing away at the computer and when I get up to give my hubby back his seat and computer get looked at by everyone near me. my choice. my days of raising hell and freaking everyone in a room out are long behind me.

Well, people are ignorant. Mr davis makes me sick, sorry you are a fan, but the tee shirts they sold "Korn gave God head" was just childish and showed to me, what type of people they are.
It's never easy standing up for the things that you believe knowing you will get flack for it. I mean, look at Dale Thompson (BRiDE)...
Some people are truly genuine in thing's, others drive me mad with their DESPERATE need for attention...GROW UP ALREADY MAN! I hate it. I hate when people conform to the whatever fake breed is around them, it's sad and stupid. It reminds me of high school...no one who isn't like you can be cool...IDIOT FOOLS! Oh, well, I'm starting to reach the point of my soapbox so I'll stop....

anyway, yeah, i disagree with that shirtand logo, kinda messed up. but i dont think you know what kind of people they are based on one slogan.

yes, im a KoRn fan, on my list of priorities there's God, KoRn, and then the rest of the world xD
but i do NOT conform to all of thier ideas, i simply love the music with a passion.

and switchblade, i agree with what you said up there, sure, you color your hair, so what!?
it's part of who you are, i seriouslly doubt you do it for attention, you dont seem like the type, but it's the people that DO that i cant stand.

kinda like cradle of filth, about half the fans (or more!) listen to them for shock value, i listen to the stuff because its lyricly deep, it holds meaning and i simply love it....it just depends on where your heart is.

If a "hail satan" can catch the eye of some wannabe satanist kid and make him think wow this is evil, then its worth it to them....If they can toss in a "God Bless", then maybe they can catch some Christian kid who wants to listen to more than Christian music and draw him in..... Its all about marketing and snagging as many people to buy their record as possible. All about the mighty DOLLAR

I listen to DeVo, ABBA, country , jazz, classical, avril lavigne, Enya, and stuff most people wouldnt think that a person like me would like.
Now you need never be ashamed of listening to anything. Shocked
