| No being a hippy isn't bad as long as you don't smell like armpits and patchouli so that when you're with people, it's like:
But...........you're 14! How can you be a hippy? I was born during the hippy era, and I'm like........35! O.o Lol j/k
Anyways........
I personally don't listen to any secular music, just my personal convictions that God gave me a few years ago, because I have a high predispensation for depression, and so He told me to turn off QFM96 (which I grew up on) and all the Pink Floyd and Zeppelin, etc, along with the other stations that I was listening to with Disturbed and Rob Zombie, and only to listen to music that glorified Him.
I don't tell people that they should live the way I do with music, but if somebody has a tendency to be depressed or anxious, it might not be a bad idea. It certainly helped me a lot and Tommy picked up on it when he met us, and I see a big difference in his attitude when he's been listening to secular rock. I think for some people it's a catalyst to their past, but anyways...............
I listen to some of my stuff and some of his stuff, and I mostly listen to music while we're at work, so here are the top 5 I've been listening to....bear in mind that some of these are mine and some are my son's:
1. The Showdown 2. DemonHunter 3. The Best of Petra 4. John Reuben (my friend's son - a christian hip hop artist) 5. Exousia
If you guys haven't heard Exousia yet, you MUST.
And you teens on here who don't listen to christian music........you have GOT to at least hear DemonHunter and The Showdown. You will like. |
