| I'd also like to add there will be a "charismatic mass" held at the church I attend this Friday, it seems the Catholic Church is not immune from "the renewl!" |

| that's pretty awesome!! God creates out of nothing. Wonderful you say. Yes, to be sure, but he does what is still more wonderful: he makes saints out of sinners.

| >>>I was once "slain in the spirit" at a charasmatic church, I went home full of joy thanking God and now believing He really loved me. Then you can't deny that when this sort of thing happens to you, it's for real. Especially if (you'll be shocked at this) you're like me and you FIGHT IT. I FIGHT IT especially if some preacher or whoever is PUSHING on my head, I HATE that! But the other night my knees felt like they were bending backwards and I almost couldn't stand up. I'm glad that you had those experiences, Changeling. And maybe it will help you to know that just because the Holy Spirit moves on you doesn't mean that your'e never going to sin again. Our sin nature doesn't go away just because we have an experience with God. I am going to stand on God's promise that He heals us. It is in both the Catholic and the Protestant Bible both: Isaiah 53:5 By His stripes we are healed. And I hope and pray that you will be set free from your addiction, as well. Keep on keepin on is all I can say. Mine's sugar. Try that one on for size. I'm diabetic, and I can get my drug of choice at work........all I want. |

| | Actually in my case, and in most cases I believe it's psychosomatic/manipulation, of course people can be overwhelmed by God's presense, but like miracles I believe them to be rare, not the norm. |

| in my church they was being slain by the multitudes, this is when i went to an aog church. I was so excited to be there and wanted to be slain....They hit my head.....Nothing, I begged God to give me this, Hit my head, Nothing....Then the dude behind me told me to just fall down next time he hit me so I dint make him look bad.....I walked out and never went back again. Thats my experience with extra biblical manifestations. _________________ ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~ A pharisee is hard on others and easy on himself, but a spiritual man is easy on others and hard on himself (A.W. WHAT????? Oh HECKS no. My Pastor would NEVER.............. I am so sorry to hear that, man. I go to an AoG church. I was also raised in one and have been a part of three different ones in my lifetime. My dad has always been an elder at both of them that my parents have gone to. I have seen so many miracles with my own eyes, it ain't even funny. I am so sorry, that this is your only experience. I pray that before you die, you ALL have many, many experiences like the ones I'm about to testify about. When I was little, I saw my dad and some other elders praying over a guy who had one leg shorter than the other. This happened after everyone left the sanctuary and nobody was watching except me. I saw that guy's leg GROW! I saw it! I am sorry that you guys haven't been fortunate enough to see and experience some of the things I have, man. It's awesome. I don't know why you haven't. I'm not trying to be arrogant when I ask this --- but have you ever asked for one? I mean, really asked and really expected it? If Jesus did it when He walked the earth, why not today? Tell me if any of this sounds like psychosomatic manipulation to you guys. I have been laying on my bed before, seeking God, with nobody home, and have spoken in tongues. I have had very specific prophetic dreams that came true, where God was speaking to me and warning people (who wouldn't listen but we won't go there), and I have seen numerous healings, not just strangers but in my own family! My mom had 14 diabetic spots in her eye. She went up for prayer and was annointed and prayed over by our Pastor and elders and when she went back to the eye doctor they were GONE. She also is in complete permanent remission from breast cancer which was in her lymph nodes, and has been for 7 years now. Also another time she had a mass under her tongue. Since she is a cancer survivor, she went to the James Cancer Institute here in Columbus. The specialist said, "Clara, there is definately something there". It showed up on the cat scan as a mass. She went up for prayer, was annointed, the whole shabang. Show business, you know. The day of the operation came, and the same specialist said there was nothing to operate on. Please understand there is only about 50 people at our church, on any good Sunday. We're not some big TV ministry. And this is my mom I'm talking about. She really did have cancer, trust me, I cried enough tears about it. Marcia, it happened right before the guys went on tour (and then my dad had his heart attack and open heart surgery while they were on tour AND my sister in law was pregnant with my nephew and was told that the wall in her previously bicornuate uterus, that was supposed to sufficate the baby, was GONE). We have had two different healings take place at our church for two different people who have had strokes, one who was never supposed to walk or talk again, but was standing on one foot, dancing and telling about it two days later at church (her name is Joanie). Also a lady at our church (Fran) was diagnosed with leukemia and is doing way better than she was supposed to since we've all been praying for her. Her hair is already starting to grow back! My niece and nephew weren't supposed to exist. If they did, they were supposed to be retarded because my sister in law had a bicornuate (divided in two by a wall) uterus. My nephew's first word was "Mitsubishi"! LOL I got hit by a car when I was 15, at about 35 mph. I had a tire track on the side of my face. I remember being airborne and watching the pavement whizz by beneath me. I remember being blown up into a shock bag on a stretcher. I remember when moving at all - hurt real bad. I also remember being woken by a nurse wearing a World Harvest Breakthrough pin on her lapel, and her and my parents praying over me. Then several hours later I walked out of the hospital. No broken bones, no sprains. Just road rash clear up & down my right side, and bruises everywhere. I didn't even have a concussion. My big brother would go out drinkin' & druggin' on the weekends when he was a teenager. It was below zero, the middle of the night and he wasn't home. My mom walked the floors in her nightgown, praying. At 6 am, they found him unconscious, slumped over the wheel of his car on Bowen Road in Pickerington. He had been there all night. Parts of his car hung from the tree. All he had was a cracked rib, and no hypothermia. This one, I have evidence I could show you guys if you were sitting right here with me. I would go get my diabetes test kit and show you this. One Sunday, Tommy and some friends were playing video games and John was at band practice. I am diabetic for those who don't know, and I had no money to get my medicine. My blood sugar that day, was almost 400. I was slurring and staggering like a drunk. "Tommy, take me to the ER", I slurred. Our friend "Big Tim" a.k.a. Bubba Flames, is a big guy who is mentally handicapped, but has faith and boldness like nobody I've ever met. Bubba Flames will walk up to gang members around here and ask them if they know Jesus, and if not why not. Bubba Flames reached out his hand toward me and said, "Name o' Jesus I COMMAND your blood sugar to go down!" 13 minutes later..........I felt much better. All I had done, was sat there. My blood sugar was 269. It had gone down almost 100 points in 13 minutes. I called my mom, and she said from having diabetes 20 years, she has never seen anybody's blood sugar drop that drastically so fast. She said that does not happen. So get this...meanwhile....John.......my silent, softspoken hubby who you guys never hear from on here.....was driving home from band practice early to take me to the ER. He said God spoke to him and said, "The LAST thing she needs is to sit in some ER for 4 hours. When you get home, put her coat on her and take her for a walk!" So, John walked in just as I was putting my coat on to go for a walk. I kept going up for prayer for my blood sugar every week. Soon after, I went to my doctor, who asked me about the Metformin I was taking. "What Metformin?" I asked, "I'm not taking Metformin!" She said, "Oh, you're supposed to be taking Metformin AND Glipizide". Nobody had ever told me that, or perhaps I had misunderstood. So now I'm on both and my blood sugar is NORMAL! Which helps all other areas of my health, which is why I still have a JOB! Recently, I woke up to find a dead fish in my fish tank. It was my angel fish. (John saw this happen Marcia --- and he was really freaked out!) My angel fish is so pretty. It's the biggest one - as big as the palm of my hand. It's my favorite. Bubba Flames gave it to me! It was dead as could be, laying still, on its side with its mouth open, not breathing. It made me mad for some reason, and I put my hand on the fishtank and commanded it come back to life. It did, and is still alive to this day. John saw it, and Tommy saw it. You can ask either of them, if you don't believe me. The fish got up and went behind a rock, and kind of leaned on the rock breathing hard. I kept praying and soon it started swimming, and then it took off! Yeah, yeah, yeah, it might have been stunned, etc etc. Lazarus might have been in a coma, too. I don't know why I've experienced all these things. Maybe so I could write to you guys about them, and increase your faith. I could go on and on and write a book about it, I have seen so many things take place! I've seen girls at church camp with scoliosis prayed over in our dorm rooms and watched their backs straighten! I don't know why I've been allowed to see these things. But I know that I've believed in them since I was a little girl. In fact when I was seven, I prayed over an elderly friend of my grandma's, at my grandma's house, and she felt heat go up and down her leg, and the pain in her leg was gone! Little kids especially are able to pray over people and see things happen. Maybe it's because of their childlike faith. Once I was stung by a bee when my friend Patricia and her girls were getting ready to go camping with me, on a girl's trip to Lake Erie. I am deathly allergic to bees! I could feel my throat starting to close up. Kayla, the oldest was 7 at the time. She put her little hand on me and prayed for me. By the time we got to Lake Erie, I couldn't even tell I had been stung. Usually it makes me sick for at least a week, unable to get out of bed. Then there's Roger. Roger goes to our church. He is 18 but looks about 10 or 11. He has some sort of liver dysfunction that has no cure. Recently he was supposed to die THAT NIGHT. He had been coming to church with a mask over his face because of his immune system. After years of praying, fasting and annointing him, he was finally supposed to die. His grandma is one of our elders. She stood at the foot of his bed and held her bible that night. She said, "Either You're a God of miracles, or You're a liar!" Roger was healed. I just high-fived him last Sunday. And what about Steve Rowe from Mortification, you guys? Do you know about what all happened to him? He consequently goes to an AoG church last I heard. Not that it matters. I think every denomination should get to experience miracles, and I don't see any reason for it except that sometimes we just don't ask for it. In all these situations, people asked...begged...fasted....stepped up and was annointed...for it. Jesus said, "You have not because you ask not".

| Tonne, your post was beautiful and moving up until this point.

Jesus said, "You have not because you ask not". |
This sounds like you're saying all those who DIDN'T get miracles didn't pray, fast, or beg enough.
Knowing your heart, I don't think this is what you meant or what you truly believe. If you did, you would have your biological children as well as your adopted child and the children from your ministry. I have begged, fasted and prayed right along with you on that one. If anyone should receive the miracle of a child, it should be you.
NO ONE has spent more time in prayer and fasting than you for a child. You and John would be loving and generous parents. So why has it not happened....
I do know it is NOT from a lack of righteous prayer or fasting.
I do know it is NOT because you are not good enough to be a parent.
I also know that it is NOT because God doesn't LOVE you enough to give you a child. You are CHERISHED and LOVED dearly from our beautiful and perfect Father in heaven - you have felt His love and His presence in your life first hand. You have story after story of miracles.
So why no miracle here? Only God knows..... but, again, it is certainly not from a lack of sincere, fervent, righteous prayer from you, your family and hundreds others who have know you through the years.
I believe strongly in miracles and have experienced several myself. But I also know that ONLY God Himself chooses the time and place for miracles. Our prayers are needed, but not necessary for Him to act.
And it doesn't make Him any less loving nor benevolent if a miracle does NOT happen. We do not understand His whole mind and we are incapable of knowing it completely. But we are capable of knowing His great love and experiencing an incredibly peaceful and abundant life with Him and through Him.
That's the BEST miracle.... _________________ "Who among the gods is like you, O LORD ? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?" Exodus 15:11

| >>>This sounds like you're saying all those who DIDN'T get miracles didn't pray, fast, or beg enough. No, no that isn't what I'm saying at all. I shouldn't even have said denominations. It just seems like there are so many doubters on here, and in face to face life, that I run into, who seem to think that God doesn't answer people's prayers anymore, or who doubt anything spiritual that I testify to, at all. I don't know why I don't have any children. I don't know why Paul had a thorn in the flesh. But I do know that the scales fell off of the eyes of Saul of Tarsus and he became Paul and wrote half of the New Testament. In that same way, I do know that God answers prayers and when he does, it's for real. |

| Yes, it is. But we have to be careful that we don't become so jaded that we think that He NEVER answers prayers or that miracles or spiritual stuff NEVER happens. It's easy to do....really easy to forget the prayers He has answered and remember the ones He hasn't......like me not having children for example (which He actually did answer with Tommy, and with our youth kids)... And I got a new one this weekend by the way. I already loved him like a son or a little brother but now he's "officially" our little brother in the Kingdom of God! Remember the kid who was gonna kill himself? YES!!!!!!!!
He's saved now and asked for the infilling of the Holy Spirit, dunno if he spoke in tongues or not but I don't believe you need to in order to be filled, I don't believe everybody does who is filled.....but later on this same kid who had been professing to be a necromancer, couldn't stop laughing or smiling (even the next day!) and was laying hands on other people and praying over them. ************* So back to the answered prayer thingie. I heard once that it's a good idea to take a notebook of some kind, divide the page down the middle with a line, and write your specific prayers on one side, and then when they're answered write the answers that happened on the other side, and then when the enemy tries to make you into a skeptic, you just go back and read all that to increase your faith and remind yourself well what about this and that, that God DID answer. Of course I keep buying notebooks to do that with and then John ends up using them for grocery lists and I forget that they're there, lol.... |

i think that God answers ALL prayers...in the way that he sees fit. i do NOT think if you beg to win the lottery that he'll give it to you, but if you need some food...he's gonna provide i know a priest, who lived with another priest (because there was little money to b had in his area) and they had run out of money for the week. and one priest told the other "God will give us food this evening" and guess what, 2 hours later somebody brought just enough rice for the two of them. a small miracle....but i think God provides all NEEDS and some wants. _________________ hakuna matatta. |

| ^^ Amen to that Victor! sometimes the things we think we want aren't the things we need and sometimes things we think we need are just unnecessary wants. God knows whats best for us and when you have faith, you can be assured that God will provide what you REALLY need. _________________ Life and death, energy and peace.
