Hey I tried to send you a PM and I wish I could, but you either have it disabled or I can't find the link. You and I need to get to know each other, somehow. My email is kyarnbug@yahoo.com and I will send you my phone number too once you send me an email. The people on here have known me for years and can attest to the fact that I am not some internet weirdo. I AM a weirdo, just not an internet weirdo. LOL! Anyways I am on the verge of tears after reading this thread. I can identify with you in SO many ways! Here are some of my answers to your questions, for what it's worth:

1) I don't think tattoos are wrong in and of themselves, but I think that they need to be done for the right reasons if we're Christians. We need to consider our witness (what other people will think when they see it) - and in fact, tattoos can be used AS a witness! You can get christian tattoos, in fact there is a tattoo parlor in Portsmouth that is ran by christians!

2) I used to be a cheerleader, too. BUT! I was the "metalhead" cheerleader! And I was a christian school cheerleader. So for me, it was a lot different. The cheerleaders at our school were def. not cookie cutters, and I was anything but a cookie cutter. I'm more of the type of person who would make the cookie cutter to cut with. Does that make sense? Razz

3) As far as piercings, I'd like to either get my nose pierced, or get a Monroe. And I'm 35 years old.....I think Monroes are really cute, and am waiting on an opinion from my husband (because he already thinks I'm cute!)

4) Cutting................I used to do that, too. It falls into the same category as skin-picking, overplucking eyebrows, compulsive handwashing, etc, etc, etc. You know you can get some pretty serious infections from cutting. When you find yourself doing it, at LEAST sterilize the object you're using with rubbing alcohol, AND the surface of the skin, and make sure you wash afterwards with Dial soap. I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO CUT OR THAT IT'S OKAY. I'm just helping you while you're still struggling with it...to at least make sure you don't get an infection.

The other more serious issue with it, is that you could actually hit an important vein. That could be bad news. I have had to get a blood transfusion before, not from cutting but from something else I won't get into, something hormonal, and it is not fun. You have to lay there all night long with this needle the size of a guitar jack in either your hand or your arm - talk about pain! ....and they don't let you sleep, they keep coming in and patting your hand and face and saying your name, and taking your vitals, like every hour or so, like right when you fall asleep, and you want to punch them.

So you don't want a blood transfusion. It's not fun.

Bottom line is, you probably are more likely to have OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Usually people who cut have that, and no, it's not a sin, it's a mental illness. And I also already know that cutting does not mean you're suicidal.

Is there anything else you can do with your hands, to take your mind off of things? Have you ever crocheted? I know it sounds like a little old lady thing to do, but just think, you could make arm warmers like they sell at Hot Topic, or legwarmers, or a really cool scarf, and WalMart always has skeins of yarn on sale, and you could make stuff like, any color you want, like black, or black and red striped or whatever and it would be really cool. I crochet! I got money for Christmas and I actually went to Hot Topic and saw crocheted armwarmers, and I thought, "Geez! $22! I could MAKE those!" And so I bought black and white yarn, and I'm doing just that.

Also, I quilt and sew. If you need pain, wait long enough when you're sewing and you'll eventually stick yourself, LOL! Seriously though there are a lot of things that people like us can do with our hands - little detailed things, and it really does work the same. I find crocheting and hand sewing to be some of the most peaceful, relaxing things I can do. Sometimes I like to listen to my CD's or playlists while I do it.

I also like to read, and write stories. That also takes my mind off of things.

Get a tattoo or piercing if you're over 18, and you feel like you're ready - but pray about it first, and I would highly suggest going to a christian tattoo parlor for it.

And quit cutting. Smile

Find something else to do with the hands and arms God gave you. You might come up with some pretty cool results!

ok i was just wondering what do you say to a mom that doent even agnolege you live any more?

Mine is going to be a very different answer from the others you have received. It doesn't mean anyone else is wrong - it's all good advice - but I am coming from a different perspective.

When my mom died, my sister, my brother, and myself all shed tears.... of GREAT RELIEF!! My sister and I are the closest and we cried to each other, "Thank God it's over." No point in details, but seriously.... I am not kidding you.

When we were planning her wake, I knew I would be the one to speak and I KNEW I had to find something positive to say. As usual, God is the PERFECT parent and showed me great love and mercy with His words.

Because of her, I was born and a circle of life began.

Because of her, I have a wonderful brother and a loving sister, and the circle of life grew larger.

Because of her, my brother and sister are alive to have their own children and I have nieces and a nephew. They now, in turn, have children of their own, and our circle of lives continue.

Because of her, I was alive to have my son, and our circle grew larger again.

Because she first had us, the circle of our lives began, and we have continued to expand that circle. And our circle is filled with love and respect for each other.

But it all began with her, and no matter her mental problems, we praise God for her life, and we are grateful that she chose to have children. Our lives are full and rich because we were born to live, thanks to her.

That's true for you. No matter what she has said or done, she chose to give you life, and I, for one, am grateful for that. I am SO GLAD you are here to be with us, talk with us, and that you are sharing yourself with us!

God is the PERFECT parent, who will NEVER LEAVE YOU and NEVER FORSAKE YOU. He will ALWAYS LOVE YOU no matter what.

You can have spiritual moms here, too. Tonnenator and I both have sons around your age. Hers is adopted and mine is biological, so God has beautifully given you BOTH parenting options for advice and guidance. How good is that? Smile

I'm telling once and for all - you, sweet girl, are NO MISTAKE. You have a gift to give to the world and we have LOVE to give to you!

Tonya - when you had your blood transfusion did you have any wierd tastes in your mouth or anything?
When I had my blood transfusion I kept tasting blueberry muffins in my mouth but as I had the respirator shoved down my throat at the time I couldn't ask them about it. And since I was on a lot of pain meds too I kept looking up at the bag of blood and thinking "How are they gonna fit all that blood in me with the blood I already have? I'll pop like a tick"

Krisi - what everyone is telling you is very right on. You just have to not let your family bother you. The meaner they are the more you just smile. A lot of us can tell horror stories I'm sure about being hurt the most by those who are supposed to love us the most. Do you work and have a car? If so start saving your money so you can work to being independent.

Victor thats a good thing that you have no horror stories with you and your family.
Some people have totally relgular and loving families and then there are some...who have the total opposite.
