| I know there is always this or that rumor going around about our favorite musicians in the secular market. This is one that I have been hearing for a long time about Tom Araya. He claims to be a christian / catholic. I wonder if his claims are true? Here is a link that I have found about this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Araya#Religion I have found different interviews on more reliable sites as well. Input on this subject is very welcome. |

| | Yes, he has stated that he was raised Catholic, but is not an active Catholic. |

| | Tom Araya is an odd egg. I think there's a HUGE difference between him and Dave Mustaine as far as these things go. Though neither one of them are truly "open" in terms of faith, I think Dave's fruit is a lot more visible. I can't say the same for Tom, though. |

| | I would almost have to disagree....Tom OPENLY talks about his belief in Jesus whereas Dave openly tells people not to talk about Jesus in front of his friends. From what I have seen , Dave considers becoming CLEAN as becoming Christian. I might be wrong of course because all I am able to learn anything about these people from is different media sources. I think it would be good if they were both saved. I hope they are. |

| ::Slaps herself in the forhead:: Ya know like 2 summers ago I had no internet connection so I couldn't confirm or deny anything about anyone and I sold or just threw out all my old cd's that I though were going to hinder me getting back with God. Of course it was still a long time before I truly got back on the right path, but in my mind it was a start. It was bu-buy Slayer, Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse, even Danzig. Slayer being one of them. So does this mean that I don't have to feel bad if I go out and rebuy a cd or 2? I just found the Christian Goth/Christian Hardcore underground last October and while I'm so glad I did, I wish I would have a long time ago, my cd collection would be a lot more interesting. _________________ Life and death, energy and peace. | Whereas I do not advocate music that could cause one to stumble I still hold to the belief that Christian music cannot get you to heaven, and Non Christian music cannot send you to hell.
I was honestly more happy and secure in my walk personally when I listened to nothing but Christian music. But then again it could have been because my walk was much closer then than it is now and 100% Christian music was just the fruit of the standing of my heart.
If music hinders your walk with God....by all means DESTROY IT!!!!!

This is so very true.....I know its with human emotion that I say this , but I cant wait to be standing there passing out direction maps in heaven when a few people get there that think I will never make it..... But on the other side of the coin... there might be a few people or groups of people that I thought had no way into heaven standing there when I show up:pale: _________________ ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~ An original "Neo-Maxi Zoom Dweebie" ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+ Metalvikng's Myspace site. http://www.myspace.com/jimburns65 My blog mirror for those without myspace. http://jb8814.livejournal.com |
