| What do you do when you're talking to another believer that you consider your friend..........and EVERYTHING you say offends them?
They take half of your sentence, twist it, and come up with a new thing to accuse you of?
What do you do?
I don't want to just stop talking to them, but I'm ready to pull my hair out sometimes. |

| If what you are saying is being true to yourself, Let them be offended. They will get over it.

| i'd say that they're trying to be a victim, and just tell 'em they're being pathetic and to get over it, and if they truly are a friend they will, OR they'll never talk to you again and you will have lost nothing but a person who deep down didn't give a fat rats donkey about you...
man, that was kinda harsh...oh well, lol its just my opinion

You hit the nail on the head...I HATE that victim attitude that people try to adopt...Oh poor me, look what has happened to me or my people, feel sorry for me, give me money to make me feel better, give me speacial rights to make up for it...waaaaahhhhhhh:( 
This victim attitude is the product of a weak, feeble, and hopeless human being that is too lazy to overcome and wants life handed to them on silver plates....ERGH:x .
Now....THAT is harsh, but true.

Yeah, political correctness freaking rocks.
That being said, it all stems from things like making our kids wear helmets to go sledding, giving all the little leaguers "participation trophies", etc, etc. They end up growing up to be thin skinned and intolerant - even in "the church". It's a load of codswallop.

| You mentioned participation trophies....I've seen things like that in my daughters schools...we dont want the loosers or the weak to feel like they need to work any harder to better themselves LOL... I am a huge supporter of the competitive nature....It betters a person. Trophies for failure is NOT a good thing. Second place trophies in a race only means you were the fastest looser.
If it is about how the game is played and not about winning, WHY DO WE KEEP SCORE? 
In my day when our team didnt win we didnt get a trophy, we got twenty laps around the ball field and had to walk home. we worked harder the next game to win.

| Man sometimes people are so uptight they could back into a wall and suck out a brick! :O
Actually all I had to do was, wait a day and this person apologized to me. He was just having PMS or something I guess.
And then there's my brother....who was just diagnosed as bipolar. Dude I am running into SO many people who are bipolar! I'm wondering if God wants me to have a bipolar ministry. I know that bipolar is a real problem and isn't just people being whiny. I actually suspect that I may be bipolar myself a bit. I will stay up all night and not be able to sleep and be so hyper and have my mind racing and racing for weeks, then be worn out and just want to sleep for a few weeks. That is so bipolar.
Now that my brother's been diagnosed perhaps he can get on some meds and not be so touchy.
Other people though might have some other excuse or reason, I suppose... |

family can really hurt you the worst of all, with words. i hope your bro can get his emotions in check. easier said than done. it would be nice if he could do so without the meds. but, he might need them. |

Yeah I'm aggravated again today.
My brother called the other day, drunk, and told me that on Thanksgiving of 2002, we said the prayer over the meal and I "prayed him poor". Do you see what I have to put up with?
My mom wonders why I don't make more of an effort to go see him, but every time I do, he pushes me away.
It's not just him, either, who is being this way. I have some friends who are being the same way and they're driving me crazy but I'll post that in another thread. |
