Well first of all, John Berry is my husband. albino

My goofy, Catholic-raised husband.

So, if it was a stab at Catholics, then it came from one.

I'm always teasing him about how good he is at inflicting guilt on people (namely me). He can do it with a look, a sigh, an attitude or the things he says. He especially has this sigh he does where he puts his lips in a thin line and goes and does something, and it reduces you down to nothing.

You sit there feeling stupid while he does the dishes or something, with a halo over his head the whole time.

He's REALLY good at it.

His mom and sisters do it, too.

And most people know that there's always been a long standing joke about Catholic guilt trips (LOL)

So.........John came up with a new word for it.

Because somebody had to.

And please don't take that personal, no, it's not a stab at Catholics necessarily, it's just John making a joke about the fact that he grew up Catholic and consequently happens to be really good at giving people guilt trips.

........and just so things aren't slanted and nobody takes this personal.........I grew up Pentecostal and I need to come up with a word for something my mom used to do, when everybody was clapping during a song and I was just standing there, when I was a teenager, she would clap and elbow me at the same time without missing a beat. (Because she wanted me to clap and I hated it!)

Any ideas????

I used to call it the "Pentecostal Smackdown"!

Not to be confused with the "Pentecostal Handshake" which is when somebody walks up to ya and says something like, "God bless you, sister" and shakes your hand, and slips you some money.

It could also be a Baptist handshake, or possibly a Catholic handshake or a Presbyterian handshake, etc depending on what sort of church you go to, LOL.
