| I got a job, everybody. I posted about it on the other site but I don't know if anybody responded or not. I'm working at Petsmart Distribution Center, making more $ than I've ever made in my LIFE, and today I worked 10 1/2 hours on my feet, picking and packing. My feet are SORE!
Tomorrow I'll be using a hand pallet jack, picking cat and dog food and cat litter. I bet I'll be beat tomorrow night! They're also training me to use a stand-up forklift that goes 25 mph. It looks like a blast.
The pay is $11.75 an hour with mandatory overtime! There is a .25 raise after 90 days and at 6 months, then every 6 months thereafter. My trainer says he makes 13 something!
Can't wait 'til payday.......SO many things I'm gonna buy that we need!!!!!
....and all my pets will thank me when I get my discount. |

| Whah, whah, whah, whaaaaaah...... LOL!
Lia you're silly.
Okey doke today was my 2nd day driving on my own and guess what????
I LOVE IT!
I love it I love it I love it. It is the funnest thing I have ever done in my LIFE!
Everybody there is SO nice and SO helpful and SO cooperative. I haven't heard one person say one cross word to another. I mean, I'm sure they have their moments, but they are so picky about who they hire, (I'm surprised they wanted me, honestly!) that I think most of the people there are pretty good people.
We'll just say that I'm a minority there, in more ways than one. I always get the door held for me going into break. A lot of the guys there saw that they put me in case pick, where I'm hefting like 4,000 to 10,000 pounds of cat litter and food and other stuff onto pallets and truckin' 'em across to the staging areas, and they're like, "MAN! They keep putting women over here! That ain't right!" And they say stuff like, "You'll be hatin' this by next week" and "You should be in the MODS" (the pick modules where you pick on foot, lightweight items) and I tell them that the day they had me in the "mods" that I hated it and went home more sore than from this, with blisters all over my feet.
I LOVE......case pick.
The weird thing is, every day when I go in, I pray for God to give me the energy to do it, and somehow I get through the day, and the really weird thing is, my back doesn't hurt like it did from FedEx, and I'm really honestly not that sore in the morning.
I go home soaked in sweat but feeling like I pumped iron and went on a bike ride or something. I can't see how I won't lose my weight, working there.
I feel like God killed two birds with one stone. He provided me with both a job, and a means to lose my weight and possibly get past the diabetes.
Today I was listening to gospel praise (I know, I'm a metalhead, it's my dirty little secret) and they were playing a song that went something about God has not forgotten, and I started crying and was just praising Him all the way there. |
