Ok, so I'm caught between those who insist Christmas will forever be a pagan holiday and Christians shouldn't be celebrating it, and between those who think that we should just be politically correct and just call it just another holiday. In retrospect, I wrote a song two days ago to reflect what the holiday is really all about. I had no other title to this except "Christmas Swing." I will probably think of another title, later, but for now, that's what I came up with.
Here are the lyrics:
He came to earth in the form of a man,
He came, but the people didn’t understand
What the prophets foretold about His birth,
The King, Messiah, come to save the earth.
Oh yeah!!
The angel, Gabriel came to Mary one day,
And he told her of the Lord’s promise comin’ her way.
A baby boy, a child, God’s own Son,
The ruler of nations, the Holy One!
CHORUS
So sing you nations, sing you lands!
About the Son of God, the Son of Man.
Let the people rejoice in them.
O sing about the little baby born in Bethlehem.
A humble stable was where He laid.
No crown, no glory just a bed of hay;
A chorus of angels came to shepherds that night,
And they in turn proclaimed the glorious sight,
They said…
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Shepherds came to see Him.
Wise men came to worship Him.
Herod tried to destroy Him.
But he could not take Jesus down!
He came to earth to seek and save,
He was crucified, but He rose from the grave
Now He sits at God’s right hand.
And one day He’ll come back again!
CHORUS II
So sing you nations, sing you lands!
About the Son of God, the Son of Man.
Let the people rejoice in them.
O sing about the little baby born…
Yeshua Ha’Moshiach, God made man.
Christ the Messiah, the Great "I AM".
In Him we all can live again.
He was once a little baby, born in Bethlehem!
