How is this 'social justice'? Empty
PostSubject: How is this 'social justice'?   How is this 'social justice'? Icon_minitimeFri Feb 06, 2009 3:10 am

Tonight I went to a friends' house and had dinner. Actually it was a friend of my brother and sister in law, from their church. She and her husband just adopted a little boy who was abandoned at their church. They paid $10,000 to adopt him - an abandoned baby that nobody wanted. They had to take out a second mortgage.

They used to be part of the foster care system in Franklin County, the county where I live. They told me that even fostering to adopt is at least $10,000.

I left there a little discouraged.

Most of you know that I will be married 18 years this coming June, and still have not been able to have children.

So tonight out of curiousity I did some research, and indeed in Franklin County it pretty much costs that much. It says on some websites that it costs less, but these are people who were a part of the system for a long time and they know because they've never been able to have children either.

Another couple at their church adopted a little girl from China.

Thirty thousand dollars.

For a little girl that was in an orphanage, that nobody wanted anyways.

Guess how much it is to get an ABORTION.......in Columbus?

Guess.

Fifty five dollars.

An additional hundred if you want put out for it - and that part is FREE FOR MINORS!

I do not want to hear anybody on here doting over me about my pain and my past and all that nonsense. Seriously I will not even respond to it, so do not even start to patronize.

I would like an honest, logical answer.

WHY is it so cheap to kill your baby............so prohibitively expensive to adopt unwanted children...............and how is that "social justice"?

If there are so many unwanted children already that the government can't afford to feed them and so we're better off with people aborting them, WHY isn't there any government help for people who WANT to adopt them?

WHY should my tax dollars pay for some teenage girl to KILL her child, when I could keep that money and adopt it?

Use scripture.

Be honest.

Tell me how that lines up with Jesus, and what he taught about little children, and all that.

And remember the millstone part.

There is NO "social justice" when it comes to the elderly, children, or even animals/pets of our society. These are "blessings" to some and "inconveniences" or "burdens" to others. I honestly don't know which is worse in our country... elder abuse in and outside of our nursing/assisted living homes or the child abuse/abortion issues. A society that abuses it's children and old people is a society that is in danger. And we are definitely a society that is in danger here.

You want "honest and logical" answers - with conditions - but about what? NO ONE here supports abortion in any way! And I would venture to say that everyone here AGREES with you on ALL of your points. (I know I do.)

I'd also say we ALL agree that adoptions are ridiculously over-priced and too far varied in procedure, and that our foster care system needs a complete overhaul.

If I am wrong, I would be surprised... but we'll see.

Ok fine i'll give my 2 cents...i can't resist getting on a good rant. and i would delete above but i can't find the thing.

Perhaps it has naught to do with scripture, perhaps this is the
wrongdoing of MAN. And so logically the explanation must be based on
that.

Taxes, are the number one answer. Yes, it is cheaper, easier, and faster to kill a fetus that nurture and birth it, but also...how much money to provide for it for 78+ years? It is my belief that the government would much much rather we kill off a hundred million kids than have to pay for birth of, and put on welfare fifty million...that's their logic.

Also; the federal and state governments use the grand excuse that "Taking care of these children, handling all the paperwork for said individuals and helping parents set up homes is very expensive."

Whatever. It's all lies and seeing through to the truth is a horrible task...I do know it doesn't cost 30 thousand whatever to adopt here, and I would guess you could find more than one source of financial help for such actions...there are pro-life "centers" everywhere.

I agree with all that PTX said, i think everyone here is disgusted by the idea of abortion. And i believe a nation that preys on the weak is a damned nation indeed.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way, Tonne. I hope you find resolution.

What is also used as an excuse are the countries where abortion is illegal, such as Africa, and to the millions of starving, lost, orphaned, and abandoned children there. **note, sarcasm begins** After all, as a "civilized" society, we cannot let that happen here.... **sarcasm ends**

And therein is the answer. Excellent, Victor!
