the media slant on who jesus is...

jesus asked peter, "who do you say i am?".

i do not believe anything di vinci might have said about jesus, as i do not believe jesus is this blonde, itallian dude, who just got out of a beauty salon! also, i do not believe jesus is dead!

though i do not believe the media hype on who jesus is, especially recently, i would like to find STONG defences and arguments on the side of the christian!

yes, we have the bible, but i would like to be able to PROVE and DEBUNK these blasphemies!

Yes, that would be nice, but PROOF is not what Jesus is about. Those are things the world needs and demands and I, for one, will not give in to the world's demands of proof.

It's about FAITH, MERCY, GRACE, but most of all, LOVE and FORGIVENESS. These are things the world does not understand so it tries to put Christians on the defensive with demands of proof.

Jesus never ran around defending Himself and proving Himself - He simply opened His arms and said, "COME to me.... I will give you REST." He loved people right where they were - he kept inviting them to follow Him, and find out for themselves.

Let YOUR LIFE be the proof that is needed to show that Jesus is REAL. LOVE them, PRAY for them, BE THERE to listen to them and CARE for them.

When they mock you for who you are and what you believe, LOVE them anyway right where they are, and pray God will send someone someday that they will listen to. Plant the seeds today.

And yes, you can even show that LOVE in your words on the boards around the Internet!

i agree with everything you are saying. it just makes me so angry when people blaspheme!

there IS proof for misc things in the bible. just read daniel, exekiel, etc, things that were fullfilled!

the only thing that makes sense of this crap is that people will apostisize in the end times.

Yep, same here. That's why it's so important that we really and truly be an example of Jesus, otherwise the world thinks we are all like Fred Phelps!

I am so tired of saying, "No, Fred is NOT one of us!" But then it continues with that he is just an extremist in Christianity, just like there are good Muslims and then there are extremist, terrorist Muslims.

That's when discussions really get fun and you get to practice your patience and tolerance.... "Yea, I can do this - c'mon, Holy Spirit... I need words!"

You see, I never have to explain or defend historical Christianity - it's the modern day stuff that I always get asked about and have to explain! Fred Phelps, Benny Hinn, the Kenneth twins, ...

Marcia, I prefer the word, "mercy" rather than tolerance. Tolerance, to me indicates you'll deal with a lifestyle and never say a word, otherwise. To some degree, it's like accepting it. On the other hand, mercy is a word I like to use because it indicates while you don't accept a person's lifestyle, you understand where that person is coming from, and you will pray for him or her, showing the way of Christ through your actions.

You will always get bad examples of faith, and a person outright rejects it. Many times, these bad examples of faith are often used to excuse bad behavior. Such is the case with a situation I know that is close to home. While the person may talk about the "bad" fruit, often, what they often fail to understand is that the bad fruit of another is not often the problem, but the bad fruit of their own life that they don't want to come to terms with.

However, we must also realize that when we see them use excuses like that, this is the time, if the person is open to discussion, to try to be Jesus. We're not always going to succeed, but we'll do our best to live out our faith.

yeah, it's about time for wheat and tare sorting. the end times are coming. people are turning from the faith, churches which once had wholesome teaching are becoming cultic. i am just so sick of it all!

You can also go to youtube and search William Lane Craig and watch many of his debates with leading atheists and skeptics. He usually wins IMO.
