| Greetings!
I gather from reading the different forums one should {must?} introduce oneself to the other readers....
I am old enough to remember having to wait by the mailbox for the next RAD Studies to arrive and watching Metal Mardi Gra 87 on VHS....
I have been involved with Christian Rock music scene as fan since the VINYL versions of BC - "Rock for the King" and Stryper "Y & B Attack"...
Most importantly, I have strived to live my life according to the teachings of the Bible {It IS the VERY WORDS of GOD!!} as a sinner redeemed through the blood of Jesus who now is sanctified {though not completely - sanctification is a "now and not yet" process} by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I believe that there are certain things a Christian SHOULD and SHOULD NOT participate in that identify them as a Representative of the Kingdom of Jesus...but that is another posting for another time.
Lest, I soumd too serious...I love a good clean "belly laugh" ...I get these from watching old school cartoons {Bugs Bunny, Pinky and the Brain, etc} and old TV shows {Munsters, etc}..I love hanging out with family and friends..Hobbies include fishing, reading, and watching hockey and baseball.
In spite of the battles, I have been through. I am truly blessed and happy!
Musically, I range from Alice Cooper to Saviour Machine to Demon Hunter to Kutlass to War of Ages...I also enjoy most other musical genres {except rap, pop, and "twangy" country}...Listen to VERY little secular music...99.99% of it compromises TOO MUCH with its messages...
As a Believer, I am VERY concerned on what has been slipping "under the radar" and becoming common thinking and beliefs within Christianity. Some of which I see in here.
I hope as time {I have a busy schedule} these and other topics can be discussed. I hope that disagreement [even though they may be strong at times} will be allowed without fear of banishment like I have seen at other Christian forums....
This seems like an interesting forum. I will be postiing again soon.

| I'll be interested to hear what you believe to be "slipping under the radar", espeacially what concerns you here. Not sure what you mean about "secular" music and how it compomisies the message, what message? |

| Welcome Son of Issachar to Sanctuary! I hope you find us a place of rest and respite in your journeys on the web. - Quote :

I hope that disagreement [even though they may be strong at times} will be allowed without fear of banishment like I have seen at other Christian forums.... If you have come here SOLELY to debate, I would ask that you reconsider. Our very title on our home page shows that is not our purpose here: "Sanctuary is a place for misfits and ragamuffins, people that don't usually fit into the mainstream. If you are hurting, this is a place for you, a refuge on the web."However, respectful, meaningful discussions can be enjoyed by all if there are no PERSONAL attacks. SUBJECTS may be dissected at length, PEOPLE may not. Please read our rules very carefully, PM a mod with any questions, and then if you are satisfied, post away! As one mod said long ago, there is a great need for brothers and sisters to sharpen their swords and become trained and skilled warriors in the Word for the battles of the enemy. Healthy discussions and teachings are needed, but we must remember that we are all on the same side, fighting against satan - not each other. The standard for this board is the Word of God, Sola Scripture. Our doctrinal statement is here. And again... WELCOME to Sanctuary!

| Welcome to Sanctuary SOI. One of the philosphies of Sanctuary is socratic discussion. We all learn from discussions, and I don't think any of us here think we have it all figured out yet, as you said sanctification is a process. We are all at different places in our journey. Please be respectful....everyone | |

| Welcome - what a detailed intro! We don't demand an intro, we just like it. I must 3rd what others have said about this place. It is a safe haven and refuge for all. - Son_of_Issachar wrote:

Yeah we all picked up on this right away. The thing I'm sure you noticed about us here is while we're mostly Christian, we're not all the same demonination, and yes that does make a difference in the way some people beileve. We are here to try to help each other in our walks with God - where ever we happen to be on that road. Wether we're new believers, backsliders, medium core or hard core in our faith. As long as you don't outright insult anyone I don't think you will manage to ruffle too many feathers here - lol. I look forward to seeing you around.
