scripture refrence? general thoughts?

Ok not like if everyone thinks it's cool I am gonna do it, and I don't and havent in years BUT....
What does the Bible say about smoking pot? When I was younger and a pothead I always said that it's totally natural and God put it there for a reason. Pick it dry it smoke it.
I'm not talking about getting high everyday, but it there a scriptual refrence about it?
I mean dosen't the Bible say he gave us the plants to comsume?
Is it sinful to partake in a little smoking every once in awhile?
As long as you're not doing anything that would put your life or someone else's in danger.
Just wondering what everyones thoughts on this are.
And I repeat I am NOT gonna run out and blaze a bowl if everyone says it's cool.

the only problem i think there is is that you cant exactly control yourself too well while under the influence.
if it wern't for that i'd think it was fine...

I used to be like the mellowest person ever when I smoked.

If a person had an affliction that made them act like they do when they was high they would pay all they had to make them act normal again. So why flake up your mind....deal in reality. its easy to face life half screwed up, but its dang hard to face it sane, sober and straight.

I think it really depends on what you consider your "body being a temple" to mean. As a celebration of life, all things can be good. As an escape from reality, as Jim notes, there can be some issues there.

I know more than I'm letting on . . . and I'm going to keep it that way for now.

that's not really the same....

actually it is....Just because God created something doesnt mean he expects it to be abused to tweek your mellon....I think pot has medical uses but not recreational...Look at pain killers.....Great for a serious injury but not inteded for recreational partying....

perhaps, i think that if

A) it doesn't make you act like an idiot, and
B) you dont do it all the time, just a once in a while thing it can be ok

but most people get addicted, and that's not ok.

I would much more like to smoke a joint than drink a bottle of any hard liquor being that my liver and kidneys aren't all they should be.
And I have been hooked on painkillers and years later really needing them when I was in the hospital. So they had to give me massive doses of reallllllly strong stuff.

I'm kind of torn. I mean putting aside the legal aspects and my views on that I am really not against just every once in awhile enjoying a little nature.
I mean yeah I wouldn't roll around in poison ivy but I am looking for a vitamin store that sells Kava Kava. I can't take St. John's Wort because of some medicine I'm still on.
I just kinda feel that some things are ok in moderation. like booze and herb - other things like controlled substances - coke crack smack even acid are better left unplayed with. Not saying I did but I know people who have done something once and been cool or once and been hooked for years.

I found a lot in the Bible about drink and was guessing maybe apply it to any drug. Or any substance that could make you not your normal self? But was really hoping one of our more versed readers could point out anything either way.

But the good thing is my salvation isnt dependant on lighting a joint

I dont advocate Pot for recreational use, Like all medicines If its for a genuine medical need thats one thing, but to kill brain cells Id say No. I think its gross

It might not be addictive but its a gateway drug
